TACKING IRON

Definition: A small, electrically heated tool used to melt the adhesive in dry-mount tissue, attaching it partially to the back of the print and to the mounting surface. This keeps the print in place during the mounting procedure.

Definition: heated tool used to stick part of the dry-mounting tissue to a print and its mounting board.
