STOP

Definition:
1. An aperture setting on a lens.
2. A comparative measure of exposure. Each one-stage change of the shutter speed or aperture (for example, from 1/60 to 1/125 or from f/2. 8 to f/4) represents a stop and doubles or halves the amount of light reaching the film.
