PAN

Definition:
1. A technique of moving the camera to follow the motion of a subject, used to convey speed or to freeze a moving subject at slower shutter speeds. Often, a relatively slow shutter speed is used to blur the background while panning keeps the moving object sharp.

2. See panchromatic.
