MOTHERBOARD

Definition: The main circuit board of a computer that contains the microprocessor, coprocessors, memory, BIOS, expansion slots, and interconnecting circuitry. Additional components can be added through the expansion slots. The electronic interface between the motherboard and the cards in the expansion slots is called the bus.
