MOIRÉ PATTERN

Definition: A visual defect that occurs in half-tone printing when the dots of the different separations used to create the half-tone image are at the wrong angles (See Screen Angles).

Definition: An undesirable pattern in color printing, resulting from incorrect screen angles of overprinting halftones. Moiré patterns can be minimized with the use of proper screen angles.

Definition: An undesirable screen pattern in colour printing that results from screen angles of overprinting halftone. Moiré usually results when you scan a halftone or when you scan images taken directly from magazines.
