BRACKETING

Definition: Taking additional pictures of the subject through a range of exposures-both lighter and darker-when unsure of the correct exposure.

Definition: technique of shooting a number of pictures of the same subject and viewpoint at different levels of exposure.

Definition: To make several exposures, some greater and some less than the exposure that is calculated to be corrected. Bracketing allows for error and permits selection of the best exposure after development.
